 Bouma Builders
Inc. is a well recognized and respected name in the construction
industry in the Chatham-Kent area. Mike and Kathy VanderSluis
are the husband and wife team managing the company, who consistently
provide their clients with excellent homes. Together with Ray
Bouma, Kathy's father, they started Bouma Builders in 1987. In
1994 Ray Bouma retired from the home building industry, after
30 years of building quality homes in Chatham - Kent.
Today Mike and Kathy continue to uphold the company name and are responsible for the day-to-day operations of the family business. They have built over 175 homes in the past 18 years. Mike and Kathy have four children, Tara, Scott, Mark & Kelly. Scott has recently joined the company and is a hands-on partner.
Mike has been in the home building business since 1972 and
like Kathy comes from a family that takes pride in its involvement
in the building industry. Together they share a background in
construction, design, and the art of knowing how to provide clients
with what they have been looking for in their new home. Mike
and Kathy work confidently together with their clients to bring
their dream home or renovation into reality. Regardless of the
size of the project, Bouma Builders Inc. take its responsibility
very seriously. The company is a long time member of both the
Canadian Home Builders' Association and the Chatham-Kent Home
Builders' Association, of which Mike served as President in 1990-1991.
Mike currently sits on the Executive committee of the association.
